Reporting a fault
Contact TechStop with your order number, product details, a description of the issue, and photos or video where relevant.
TechStop may ask for reasonable evidence and may require the device and relevant included items to be returned for inspection before a final repair, replacement or refund decision is made, unless that would be legally inappropriate.
Inspection and assessment
TechStop will assess returned devices within a reasonable time. Inspection may include checking the reported fault, device condition, serial or identifying details, and whether the issue appears related to misuse, unauthorised repair, liquid damage, impact damage or customer-caused damage.
Genuine covered faults will be handled without an improper inspection fee. Reasonable return-delivery costs will be handled in line with New Zealand consumer law where legally required.
Repair, replacement or refund
If the fault can be repaired within a reasonable time, the appropriate remedy may be repair, replacement or refund depending on the fault and applicable law.
For serious faults, remedies may include rejecting the product for a replacement or refund, or keeping the product and claiming compensation for reduced value, depending on the circumstances and legal rights.
A refund does not mean the customer keeps the device. The device and relevant included items must usually be returned before a final refund or replacement is completed.
Change of mind
Change-of-mind returns are not automatically available unless TechStop expressly agrees in a specific case.
Refunds, where approved, will usually be returned to the original payment method where practical.
Your legal rights
This policy does not limit rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or other applicable New Zealand law. Refurbished and second-hand goods sold by a New Zealand business may still have Consumer Guarantees Act protections.
